Chlorite Quartz is a variety of Clear Quartz that has inclusions of the mineral Chlorite. Chlorite generally gives the Quartz a green or orange/pink tint. The Chlorite deposits almost always come in the form of phantom crystals within the Quartz crystal itself. These phantom Chlorite crystals are similar to the concentric circles that are visible on the cut face of a piece of wood - They are indicators of the crystals’ lifetime. Over the years that a Quartz crystal grows, there are often times that it pauses in growth, and its faces begin to be covered in Chlorite. These deposits of Chlorite that occur during the pause in crystal growth, followed by continued growth, are what create the Chlorite color and the phantom crystals that are visible inside of Chlorite Included Quartz Points.
