Citrine is a variety of Quartz, distinguished by its yellow pigmentation, derived from iron. Much of the "Citrine" on the market is in fact heat treated Amethyst; When Amethyst is treated with heat it turns from its natural purple color to an orange color that vaguely resembles Natural Citrine but is much more orange than most Natural Citrine is. The color of Natural Citrine varies from a pale champagne yellow to a deep root beer amber with brownish tones. Our Natural, untreated Citrine Points run the gamut of Natural Citrine color, from light lemon yellow to dark amber brown. These Citrine crystals are rough; They have not been treated in any way. Our Citrine Points vary widely in size and shape, including large but short points, long and skinny points, tiny but chubby points, as well as partially chipped points. Many of these crystals contain intricate geometric etchings, including several with record keeper markings. They are the highest quality raw Citrine Points that we have ever encountered! Metaphysically, Citrine is known to be the Stone of Manifestation, Abundance and Wealth. From as early as 300 BCE in Greece, Citrine has been sought out, cut and polished as a gemstone for jewelry. Our Natural Citrine was sustainably mined in Bahia, Brazil. Sustainable mining means that the mines are re-filled with earth when they’ve been fully harvested, so as not to disrupt the surrounding ecosystem.
